KUARI PASS TREK

The Kuari pass means the Doorway. This trek was explored by Lord Curzon and is also knows as the Curzon trail. The Kuari Pass Trek gives you a chance to view this impressive skyline of these mighty mountains from close quarters. The trek begins from Joshimath, in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, which has evolved into the hub for trekkers and pilgrims in this part of the Garhwal Himalayas. Confluences of several rivers – the Pinder, Kaliganga, Nandakini, Birehiganga & Dhauli Ganga give make up the Pancha-Prayag – namely, Devprayag, Karnaprayag, Devprayag and Rudraprayag. If you are stepping into Himalayan trek for the first time then Kuari Pass is the trek to do. It is almost crafted perfectly for the beginner trek lover.

In this Vagabond Trek you will experiance Ancient Forest Trails, Outstanding Campsites and Mountain Views from the First Day. The trek starts at 6,900 feet at Dhak and reaches a maximum altitude of 12,516 ft above Mean Sea Level on the kuari pass crossing day. On the Kuari Pass trek, you’ll be trekking for an average of 4-5 hours every day, except the pass crossing day which will be 8 hours long. In this trek, Nanda Devi Peak, Rishi Ganga River, and the views of the mighty garhwal Himalayas from Kuari Pass will be stuck to your heart forever. The chilling wind at the top of this trek has something special always to drag you to the unending charm of the place and let you remain in a heaven like feeling for a while.

Day 0: Departure From Delhi - Joshimath

Depart From Delhi to Joshimath at Night Around 10-11 PM, Overnight Travel……

Day 1: Arrive Joshimath

We will Arrive Joshimath at Afternoon, we”ll check in to hotel/Guest House. After that have some rest or you can explore joshimath. Have dinner and overnight stay at the same.

Day 2: Joshimath - Dhak Village - Start Trek Today

Wake up at early morning, have breakfast and drive to dhak village, after half an hour will reach Dhak Village will start from here to Gulling top – campsite. After 5-6 km trek we will reach the campsite – Gulling top, point this afternoon to enjoy the snow laden forests in your own way. Have dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 3: Gulling Top to Tali Forest Camp

Wake up in time next morning have breakfast and start trek to Tali Forest Camp, 5 hour journey deeper into the forest of Talli. After the exacting climb of last day, the trek today will be less arduous. The gradients of ascent is relatively smooth and will allow you an enjoyable hike. At the height of winter’s splendour, you can find everything in the forest coated with a cover of snow. In the thickening snow, light, and shade of the conifer forests of Gulling, our second camp on the trek will be pitched. Along this path, the Hathi-Ghori peaks will be manifesting gloriously along with Dronagiri now somewhat flipped to the side. after reaching the top have some rest. have dinner and overnight at campsite.

Day 4: Tali forest camp to Kuari pass and back via Khullara top

Wake up in time next morning have breakfast and start trek to Kuari pass and back via Khullara top. In the first phase, the trek will move up to the Khullara top—a moderate ascent of 3.5 km. You will need to traverse a broken bridge and a stream frozen at the heights of winter, followed by a ridge climb to the high pass, severely strenuous and made more challenging with the snow. At Jhandi Dhar, a suitable rest point 2 hours into the trek, you can afford a long break. after reaching the templeat the base of the Kuari high pass. The climax of this trek comes with a visual bang exposing a host of Garhwal behemoth peaks, unveiling—Kedarnath Peak, Kedardome, Chaukhambha, Balakun, Neel Kantha, Mukut Parvat, Kamet, Abhi Gamin, Mana I, Ghori Parvat, Hathi Parvat, Dronagiri, Kalanka, Changabang, Nanda Devi, Nanda Ghunti. After some time at the pass, we will trek back to tali same route, reach tali and overnight at the same.

Day 5: Trek back to Joshimath

After breakfast, Trek back to Joshimath from Tali, Will reach Joshimath and stay at the same Hotel/guest house.

Day 6: Departure from Joshimath to Delhi

After Breakfast, will back to home Delhi. You’ll be driven back to Delhi and will reach by late night. Your trip ends here. Keep in Touch with Vagabond…..
