Spiti Valley is a high-altitude region of the Himalayas, located in Himachal. The name “Spiti” means “The middle land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Spiti valley is famous for its natural beauty and heritage cultural. Tabo monastery is one of the most famous attractions in Spiti and oldest continuously. All monasteries in Spiti are renowned for spectacular murals, ancient temples, and several stupas. Spiti Valley road trip is the stuff of dreams. It boasts of some of the most 360 panoramas in the world and some of the highest villages of the world. The scattered villages comprise of whitewashed mud-brick homes amid rugged mountains and barley fields.

Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Delhi to Manali | Overnight Journey 11 hr 19 min (537.8 km)

Spiti Valley road trip group will assemble at the pick-up point by 8:00 PM (tentative).
You'll meet the team captains and a small tour briefing session will be conducted, After that you’ll head out on an overnight journey to Manali.

Day 2 : Arrival at Manali| Day at Leisure

Will reach Manali early morning.
After-check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure. You can visit mall road, do cafe hopping, shopping etc.
Dinner will be served in the evening followed by an overnight stay in Manali.

Day 3 : Manali to Kaza (200 Km, 9 Hours Drive Approx)

After breakfast at early morning, we will drive to Kaza.
En route see beautiful Kunzum Pass.
We will reach Kaza by late evening and check in to our pre booked stays.
Dinner will be served in the evening followed by an overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 4 : Spiti Valley Road Trip Sightseeing Day 1 (Pin valley, Tabo, Dhankar)

After breakfast, we will go for sightseeing tour where we'll visit the Kungri Monastery in Pin Valley followed by a visit to the thousand-year-old Tabo Monastery where we'll pay a brief visit.
Lastly, we'll visit the Dhankar Monastery which is nestled at an altitude of 12,774 ft on a cliffside visit the village along with the Dhankar Fort.
In the evening, we'll head back to our designated stay. Dinner followed by an overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 5 : Spiti Valley Road Trip Sightseeing Day 2 (Hikkim, Komic, Langza)

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Key Monastery locally known as Kye Gompa on the way visit to the highest post office in the world, Hikkim.
After Hikkim, we’ll move towards Komic village which is one of the highest villages in the world connected by a motorable road.
Last but not least, we will visit the land of fossils, Langza, and visit the Buddha statue that sits on top of a hill overlooking the village.
Finally, we’ll head back to Kaza where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 6 : Kaza to Chandratal (90 Kilometers, 7 Hours Drive Approx)

After breakfast, we will visit the pristine Chandratal which is a crescent-shaped lake mimicking the moon.
En route, we will be traversing the iconic Kunzum Pass and make a brief stop at Chicham Bridge which is Asia’s highest bridge.
After arrival at our designated campsites, we'll check in and then head towards the Chandratal lake to spend some leisure time by the lakeside.
Dinner will be served in the evening followed by an overnight stay in the campsites.

Note: If the night weather conditions don't permit us to stay in the camps at Chandratal lake, we'll stay in the Batal region instead.

Day 7 : Chandratal to Manali (125 Kilometers, 7 Hours Drive Approx)

After breakfast in early morning, we'll check out of our campsites and start our return journey to Manali.
After arrival in Manali, we'll spend the rest of the day at leisure.
In the evening, we will board the bus for an overnight drive to Delhi.

Day 8 : Delhi Arrival | Spiti Valley Road Trip Ends

You'll reach Delhi and part ways with fond memories.
