1. Attend music festivals and trance parties
If you are a party animal and love dancing till the last beat of music then, these trance parties is another one of the enticing things to do in Kasol. Music festivals in Kasol are the ones you shouldn’t miss upon your visit. These festivals are organized during special occasions like new year, Holi, and Shivratri with the most popular DJs from all over the country landing to perform on stage. Kasol is also well known for its psychedelic trance parties which generally take place during May & June and Sep & Oct. Interacting with the locals in the cafes would be the best way to get the right information about these trance parties. If you are in Kasol to enjoy the tranquility and peace of the Himalayas, then these crowded music festivals might not be your cup of tea and there will be lot more things to do.
2. Go trekking to Kheerganga
A trek to Kheerganga is that one trek you should add to your itinerary even if you are having a short trip of two days. This trek starts from a place called Bharshani( 7km away from Kasol) and is a 12km long trek that would take around 4 to 5 hours to reach the peak point. Though it is a long trek, trust me you wont feel the tiredness of walking up straight. The beauty around casts a magic spell and time just flies by without even knowing. There are two routes to the trek and I would suggest taking the jungle way to trek up and the village route on the way back. Spending a night on the peak is advisable to enjoy the clear sky with glittering stars overhead reminiscing your childhood. Do shop the juicy Himachali apples on the way where locals sell them at very fair prices. Going for this trek is undoubtedly one of the best things to do in Kasol Himachal Pradesh.

Just sitting at the cafe watching the people juggle is my favorite thing to do. The cafes here in Kasol have the most scenic views and keep you engaged for hours without uttering a word. All you can hear is the slurping sound of your coffee amidst the melodies of nature. Taste the best food of Kasol in these little cafes with outstanding scenic views. 5. Go backpacking to Tosh
Tosh, yet another splendid creation of God. It’s a gorgeous village situated on a hill in Parvati valley near Kasol which is guarded by mountains which are covered by snow during winters season giving a spectacular image. Wooden houses here are an ideal example of village architecture and are a perfect stay for all of us living in concrete jungles. A distinct smell of marijuana hits you as you enter the village making the whole experience even more exciting (wink). The most crispy and sweet apples are found here and apple orchards are the main source of income for the locals. The meadows and valleys around the Tosh are filled with lot of things like blue poppies, buttercups, and Himalayan balsam flowers and are bliss to the naked eyes. Exploring Tosh is an untold experience all by itself. If you choose to trek to Tosh remember, climbing up the irregular mountain terrain might be a daunting task for a few and also there are no eateries available along the way. So, make sure you carry water and food to snack on the way.
6. Visit Malana( world’s oldest democracy)
Malana, a hidden village in the Parvati valley is a world on its own, untouched by modernity even in this 20th century. This village with its traditional rules and regulations was prohibited for the non-natives until recently. The villagers believe themselves as the descendants of Alexander the Great and consider very pure. Though you cannot reside in this village, you might go on an exploring spree and witness the unaltered beauty. This village is beautifully adorned by greenish mountains overlooking the peaks of Deo Tibba and Chandrakhani. Visiting this solitary village which is isolated from the rest of the world and knowing its mysterious secrets is an interesting activity when in Kasol. Also, beware there are a few rules to follow when in Malana.
