How Much Time Does It Take To Reach Churdhar?

The Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh is home to Churdhar Peak. Starting from Chandigarh, it takes about 4-5 hours to arrive at Naurdhar, where the trek begins. The Churdhar journey covers around 32 kilometers, and the peak’s highest point is at a height of about 12,000 feet.


You can begin your first day by traveling 130 miles from Chandigarh to Nauradhar.


On the current day, you might add a trek to Jam Nallah, which is 7 km from Nauradhar.


Start your second day by traveling the 9 km from Jam Nallah to Churdhar Peak and returning that same day.


On day three, the route from Jam Nallah to Nauradhar and the journey to Chandigarh would be reversed from day 1.

Churdhar Trek: Weather conditions And Equipment

The time of year when trekkers are traveling affects the weather. Months before and after the monsoon have mild daytime temperatures but much colder nights. Wintertime lows are as low as -3 degrees Celsius, and summertime highs are as high as 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.


Along with such weather conditions, some essential things should be carried which include wearing warm, cozy clothing and high-quality footwear are recommended as nights are typically much colder at higher elevations.


Carry emergency aid and required medications. Also, when you go trekking, take your travel bag with you. Water, energy bars, raincoats in case the weather changes, and a torch, if you intend to hike at night, should also be included in your pack.
